Michelle Rodriguez surrendered herself yesterday afternoon to begin her six-month jail sentence in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff, the former Lost star was booked at 4.33pm yesterday at the Century Regional Detention Facility at Lynwood.

Michelle was given the six-month sentence on 10th October after she admitted violating her probation by failing to complete community service and consuming alcohol while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device.

The overseeing judge, Superior Court Judge Davianna L Mitchell has said Michelle will not be eligible for the early release programme enjoyed by Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie but sources say the sheriff may have no choice but to override the order because of over-crowding. She also may receive time off her sentence for good behaviour.

The prison stay is Michelle’s third custodial stay in the last 18 months: in May 2006, she spent 4 hours and 20 minutes of a month sentence in Lynwood then a further two days in a Honolulu jail following a December 2005 DUI in Hawaii.

About 400 people packed the Covenant Christian Reformed Church on Saturday for the first of two performances of this year’s “live nativity,” a play depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. The church altar was transformed into a set with King Herod’s throne, a manger for the newborn Jesus, and a stable where chickens strayed freely and two Scottish Highlands cows nibbled on hay.

The live nativity has become a church tradition since a small group of members who had organized the nativity at nearby Midland Park Christian Reformed Church switched congregations seven years ago, said Kevin Hoogerhyde, an organizer and the church treasurer.

The script changes annually — one year it featured a family Christmas shopping, with flashbacks to the first Christmas in Bethlehem — but this year, it was straight up Christmas with Mary and Joseph and no room at the inn. Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff provided the animals.

Congregation members and youth group collaborated on the script, which they based on biblical text but cast in contemporary language.

“It’s OK! I’ve been sent from the Lord!” the angel Gabriel tells Mary before informing her that God had tapped her to give birth to his son, Jesus. King Herod refers to the innkeeper he is interrogating as a “blabbering buffoon.”

Between scenes, the cast and congregation sang traditional carols, such as “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

St. Francis of Assisi is credited with creating the first live nativity scenes in the 13th century as a way to convey the Christmas story in a largely illiterate society. The scenes became common in painting and sculpture, with different countries and cultures imparting their own styles and imagery.

Deirdre Anderson, who with costumes and gave stage directions, said the aim of her church’s nativity is no different. …

While the rest of the world is still recovering from the shocking news that Britney’s little sister Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, some people apparently think it’s no big deal.

Lindsay Lohan’s pet peeve is when someone else steals her thunder, and Jamie Lynn is hogging up all of La Lohan’s attention. When Lohan was asked what she thought about the teenager getting pregnant she replied, “Why do people think it’s such a big deal?”

Of course, this is coming from someone who doesn’t think drunk driving, cocaine, and multiple visits to rehab is a big deal. Let’s not forget she’s also been linked to about 80% of the men in Hollywood. So why would something as silly as a teenager getting pregnant be a ‘big deal’ to someone like Lindsay?

I don’t think people should make a big deal about he comment, maybe it’s just a sign of the times that a 16 year old getting pregnant is no longer the same outrageous news it was 50 years ago. You shouldn’t judge her comments, I herd the news said “what a shame, another one,” and went about living MY life.

I am not a mother nor am I a crack head and I am sick and tired of hearing about JL Spears. It is not that big of a deal to me either. 16 year olds all around the world have gotten pregnant. The only reason why this one is so highly publicized it because it is Shitney’s sister. Big fuckin Whoop!

Lindsay Lohan may have a new roomie. According to In Touch Weekly compliment her new love life with Spencer Guilbur, Lindsay’s decided to lease a Beverly Hills home with Courtenay Semel, 28, the daughter of Yahoo! Chairman Terry Semel.

According to an insider, the two have been friendly for years, but they recently reconnected after Lindsay was released from rehab. “Courtenay’s sober, so she’s the perfect pal for Lindsay,” the insider says.  Certainly that can’t hurt.

The report from the weekly entertainment magazine also touches on Lindsay’s love life as well.  They note in the report set for publication in this week’s issue that even though LiLo may have broken up with former boyfriend Riley Giles, but it looks like she has already moved on. The 21-year-old has been spending a lot of time with Spencer Guilburt, who recently split with his girlfriend and lives in LA.

The magazine reports that the new couple went to Il Sole in LA on December 7 and the actress even planted a kiss on her new beau! “They looked very cute together and were eating dinner and talking with some other friends,” says a witness. Then she took the 24 year-old USC graduate from Malibu to the grand opening of Goa in Hollywood on December 8. “She was saying he was her boyfriend,” says a witness. She gave a radio interview on December 14 to a Las Vegas station when asked if she was still with her ex, Riley Giles, Lindsay said, “Um, I don’t kiss and tell.”

PRINCE Harry has topped a survey to find the celebrity party animal of the year.

He beat competition from singer Amy Winehouse and film star Lindsay Lohan.

Other popular choices in the survey included Steven Gerrard’s wife Alex Curran and boozy footballer John Terry.

Duncan Reid, of Contex Party and Events, who carried out survey, said: “Harry is the very epitome of UK party cool.

“He is constantly seen in the latest clubs and bars.”
